Here are some of my favorite stretches for BJJ training. I’m no “yogi”, but these are the stretches that I have found that work best for me. I like to base my stretching routine on three components: 1. My BJJ game (preferences), 2. Body size, 3. Injuries or limitations. For me being a smaller practitioner (155 lbs) I tend to get stacked on my neck quite a bit (especially because I prefer triangle chokes). Therefore when I stretch I like to do a lot of neck and spine stretches. I also like my stretching movements to mimic my game (triangles / omoplatas / explosive movements). I tend to favor stretches that look and feel close to these submissions. Give them a try and as always -Happy Training Ninjas!
